Bowel Irregularity

The "Heaviness" Burden

  • The Feeling: You feel permanently "backed up" and sluggish, as if your internal clock has simply stopped. No amount of water or fiber seems to move the needle on that lingering sense of weight.

  • Our Approach: We utilize Transit Time Assessment to create a literal map of your digestive speed, pinpointing the exact location of the "traffic jam" to help restore a predictable, healthy rhythm. We also assess muscle strength and coordination to understand the underlying mechanisms of your complaints.

The Loss of Certainty (Incontinence)

  • The Feeling: The most taxing burden is the loss of trust in your own body. Whether it’s an urgent race to the restroom or a lack of control you can't explain, it creates a "social prison" where you never feel truly safe away from home.

  • Our Approach: We develop a Neuromuscular Mapping Plan to evaluate transit speed and muscle coordination. By identifying whether the issue is a timing error or a mechanical disconnect, we provide the data needed to regain your sense of security.

The Science

Irregularity is often a breakdown in how the brain and gut muscles communicate to manage transit and evacuation.

  • The Mechanics: Proper function requires a precise balance of muscle contractions. When the nerves in the rectal vault lose sensitivity, or the pelvic floor muscles fail to coordinate with the intestinal push, the result is a system that either stalls or lacks reliable control. Sometimes weak muscles or even injury can lead to lack of control.

  • The Pressure Mismatch: Many cases are rooted in a coordination error, where muscles meant to relax during evacuation actually contract, creating a physical blockage.
